The term pest control refers to the set of operations that contribute to the elimination or, at least, the containment of different kinds of pest. The definition of this expression includes both organisms that live off the human body, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, and insects like mosquitoes, bed bugs, and ticks and those that cause tangible alternations or damage to property or environments, such as rodents, pigeons, termites, cockroaches, and flies, collectively referred to as "pests".
The pest control methods we use are:
spraying, using atomisers, using pre-compression pumps or shoulder-mounted electric or combustion engine pumps external or internal according to the type of intervention;
ULV treatments, Ultra Low Volume, generating "cold mists" with droplets smaller than 10 microns using ULV sprayers. This technique ensures the formula gets into every possible space, and, thanks to the low emission of insecticides, it is ideal for treating interior spaces against mites, for example;
fumigation, is excellent for saturating warehouses, stores of foodstuffs, silos, and drains, with the use of thermal-foggers, and "hot mist" generators;
gel applications, are ideal for the elimination of cockroaches and ants: spray guns or full-stroke syringes are used to apply the gel in particular places such as kitchens, bars and restaurants;
disinfestation with heat treatments, is carried out using sophisticated electric or combustion heaters that distribute their heat to specific points. This ensures the temperature of the areas under treatment reach between 50° and 60° (approx.) and remains constant for the time necessary to ensure total death of any pest regardless of its lifecycle stage (egg, larva, pupa, or adult). The time required for the various treatments varies from 24 to about 48 hours. The insects are killed due to the denaturing of proteins.
cryo-pest control, capable of delivering liquid nitrogen at a constant pressure. Nitrogen comprises 79% of our air, and its use in the field of pest control, when applied correctly, is completely environmentally friendly and safe, eliminating the need for gas masks by operators, or evacuation of the premises to be treated. This feature is extremely useful when pest control is required in places like housing, hospital operating theatres and other public spaces, or the interiors of ships and boats.
Laboratory tests show that a few seconds of spraying liquid nitrogen at -196 °C are sufficient to significantly decrease the temperature of the treated materials and obtain a rapid cryo-burn effect, killing any type of insect at any stage of its lifecycle. This procedure is applicable to any environment and is particularly effective in eradicating bed bugs. This is possible thanks to the so-called "percolation effect": the nitrogen penetrates the fabric without wetting it, and brings the temperature well below zero, restoring the treated material. This type of treatment provides the ability to intervene at any time of the day and in any environment, without the need to evacuate the area being treated. For example, a hotel room within which this treatment has been made will be available immediately after for use by guests; a hospital operating theatre can be processed at any time, without having to first prepare the area first, as there is no need for cleaning at the end of the procedure.
Gallura Disinfestazioni has been active in Olbia for over 30 years, and has become a benchmark for all private individuals and companies in need of rapid, high quality elimination or control of pests like mites, cockroaches, beetles, flies, fleas, spiders, termites, wasps, mosquitoes, and other pests, be they in public areas like schools, hospitals, institutions, and parks, or in private civil or industrial spaces, like villas, apartments, hotels, hotels, camping sites, condos, gyms, swimming pools, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, industrial buildings, and transportation like ships and aircraft. Gallura Disinfestazioni uses many techniques, which are selected according to the species of pest to be controlled, the type of environment, and the human activities present in that place. It is this combination of factors that determines the sensitivity of the operation, requiring careful choice of equipment and products at the same time to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Crucial to the success of the operation is, above all, the correct application of the methods according to international protocols, as well as the technical skills of the operators, who must be certified regarding their training. The expert employees at Gallura Disinfestazioni are able to perform appropriate evaluations on the infestation and the area to be processed, performing (if necessary) a series of treatments aimed to eradicate, or at least contain the infestation below tolerance limits. The Sardinian company uses insecticides with low environmental impact, thus ensuring greater safety for operators, individuals and areas subjected to the treatment, and green areas in particular.
